Laurelei Black

Laurelei Black is a hedge-rider, a cunning woman, and a traveler on the crooked path of the Witch. She is also a priestess of love and pleasure, an Ishtar-woman, an Aphrodite-woman. She is a friend to daemons and a mate to the Red God. A bone collector; a temple dancer. Laurelei is a co-Founder of Midian Festivals and Events, co-Director and frequent presenter at the Babalon Rising Festival, an OTO initiate, and the proud proprietress of Asteria Books and Events.

In addition to her work as a Priestess of Aphrodite, Laurelei is a Cunning Woman, a Witch of the traditional path. She and Natalie (Long) Black founded the American Folkloric Witchcraft tradition, where they explore the convergence of American magic and traditional British craft. Within this realm, Laurelei's keenest interests include necromancy, bone collecting, and potion-making.

Laurelei's current projects include Temple of Beauty, an upcoming novel about Helen and Klytemnestra, and building the Temple of Aphrodite Asteria. She lives in Indiana with her mate, Joe, and her two children.

Meggie Tolkland

Meggie truly is a Midwestern writer: She grew up in Southern Indiana, home of crazy-good barbecue, and attended the University of Minnesota-Minneapolis. She now lives in the Indiana suburbs of Chicago. Kate Collins of Valparaiso, IN, the best-selling author of cozy mysteries, taught her to write, and Meggie signed with the hot new Asteria Books of Indianapolis. Meggie’s books reflect her love of her Midwestern roots.

Of course, no writer’s bio would be complete without a cat; Meggie shares her home with an American Eclectic (alley cat), who looks like the Cheshire Cat but is eerily friendly. Meggie’s hobbies are baking, decorating and making her home a cozy haven. She also likes visiting Chicagoland’s great museums, zoos and theaters. She enjoys working out, hiking and wearing just a touch of the latest fashions.
